Current Visitation Guidelines
We strive to create a welcoming environment that allows patients to feel comfortable and supported during their stay. However, it is also important to ensure that all patients receive the medical care and rest they need to recover. With that in mind, we have guidelines in place to ensure that visits are both safe and beneficial for our patients as well as their visitors.
Visiting hours are 11 am – 8 pm with a 2 visitor maximum unless prior arrangements have been made with the Unit Director. Exceptions to this can also be made by SGMH leadership for special circumstances and in emergency situations.

Visitors arriving to the facility should self-screen for illness prior to entering and consider postponing their visit if any symptoms are present. Masks are no longer required within the facility but highly encouraged. Hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette is an expectation throughout the facility while visiting.
The right of a patient to have visitors may be limited or restricted when visitation would interfere with the care of the patient and/or the care of other patients. Circumstances that provide a basis to impose restrictions or limitations include (but are not limited to) when:
- There may be infection control concerns;
- There has been local, state or federal guidance to limit or restrict visitors due to a Public Health Emergency;
- The hospital is aware that there is an existing court order restricting contact;
- Visitors engage in disruptive, threatening, or violent behavior of any kind;
- Visitation is otherwise clinically contraindicated;
- Patient has requested.
Patient visitation by children is welcomed provided it is beneficial to the patient and/or children. Children under the age of 14 visiting the hospital are to be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult at all times and must remain in the room of the patient they are visiting.
The number of visitors and length of visitation may be limited in specific care settings such as Intensive Care and Post-Operative/Recovery areas due to the critical nature of a patient's illness and the level of required medical care.
The organization may also limit the number of visitors for any one patient during a specific period of time, as well as, establish minimum age requirements for child visitors when reasonably necessary to provide safe care.
If you have any questions about the visitation policy or would like more information about how you can support your loved one during their stay, our staff is available to assist you. Should you have a question or concern that needs further clarification or escalation, contact the House Supervisor at (951) 532-7764. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us provide the best possible care for our patients.
